Oahu Tours Under Sail - Basic Facts

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the things you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Mark Twain.

Wild Side Specialty Tours team of Marine Biologists specialize in intimate experiences in a natural environment, with a maximum of 16 participants per tour. While sailing the Leeward Coast, you’ll view Hawaii’s wildlife in their daily routines. Your main focus will be on snorkeling near Hawaii’s spinner dolphins and over the reef with fish and turtles. In the winter months (December – April), viewing humpback whales are an added feature. The crew will share their knowledge of the marine life and the natural and cultural history of the Leeward Coast, as well as snorkeling instruction and interaction etiquette. sail hawaii

The Boat: You’ll journey on a 42’ sailing catamaran, equipped with a private bathroom, shaded areas, and fresh water shower on deck.

The Crew: The crew of Wild-Side Specialty Tours will take you to the whale and dolphin intensive area that they have studied as Marine Biologists and as residents of this Hawaii coast , their own backyard. They are lifeguard and CPR certified and consider you a personal guest, who by the end of your journey should be joyful and enlightened to the sensitivity of Hawaii’s marine environment.

Location: Waianae Boat Harbor check-in, slip #A11, Oahu, about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki. Due to self-imposed small passenger groups, transportation is not provided. Rental car recommended.

Reservations: Preferred at least two weeks ahead of time and made on the secure form. We can take bookings up to the night before, or wait list people, but with our self-imposed limit of 16 passengers and limited number of trips in respect of the wildlife, we tend to book up sometimes months in advance.
