REEF
Survey Snorkeling Adventures, Oahu
Take
yourself to new depths this summer, on a day that counts...
Most people take up diving and snorkeling to be able to observe marine
life. Fish watching can gives divers and snorkeler's a new, enjoyable,
and exciting challenge, while contributing to the health of coral reefs.
Check
back for updates on our Great Annual
Fish Count event in July
Let
us edu-tain you as you participate in the conservation of marine habitats,
snorkeling in tepid, clear waters among
tropical fish (many found only in Hawaii), green
sea
turtles,
coral reefs and sometimes even dolphins!
While
enjoying Oahu's teeming marine life onboard our mid-day catamaran snorkel
sails, you'll join our team of marine biologists,
O`ahu visitors and other folks across the nation conducting fish
surveys. Participation in the survey is not necessary or difficult,
its an added benefit.
Onboard
mini-training classes in fish identification and behavior are not only
fit for novices and experts, but will instill a lifelong skill to be
enjoyed whenever you snorkel. Materials such as underwater slates, snorkel
equipment, etc. are provided as are refreshing drinks and snacks. Information
gained from your boat trip can also be used at any other location you
snorkel for the rest of your life, as REEF Survey is the equivalent
of joining a marine Audubon Society!
Get
a head start on the colorful
fish we'll be encountering. On EARTH DAY 2006,
one week of proceeds for REEF surveys were donated to the Wild
Dolphin Foundation for reef education efforts.
As
A REEF field station, snorkeling adventures are in collaboration with
REEF, and the Wild
Dolphin Foundation of whom a portion of the charter proceeds are
donated to.
